FA Cup...
Posted: 16-05-2008 17:21:10
think I'll put my leg up and watch the game Saturday. Hopefully it should be fairly entertaining match, what with the usual suspects not involved; Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal.
Not much on this weekend, getting the garden landscaped next week, so got to go and order some turf, fence panels and gravel boards. We're really going for it this year on the house!
Have a good weekend people....
Bad luck Rangers...
Posted: 15-05-2008 17:27:26
it's a long way back up the M6 after losing the final last night. My father-in-law's a season ticket holder at the Rangers and was stuck in Hong Kong so missed the opportunity to watch the game in sunny Manchester. Heads up lads, you've still got 2 other trophies to win!
Supermarket parking..
Posted: 12-05-2008 10:44:57
what is it with drivers who park in the parent and baby spaces and who don't have kids? The cheek, they don't have a car seat or even a family to ferry in and out! Challenged a guy yesterday, after asking where his child was he replied "At home" to which realised what an idiot he sounded and made an excuse about getting money out! It's soooo frustrating, apparently the supermarkets stance is only one of providing available parking for parents and it's not illegal to park in these spaces, not like disabled spaces anyway!
Anyway, the weekend was cracking and how much better everyone is when the sunshine's? Got the BBQ on last night and Zach had loads a fun running round the garden in his sun hat!
Bring on more of the same....
Short week...
Posted: 08-05-2008 17:12:33
off tomorrow to look after Zach, Grandparents usually do the honours however their sunning themesleves in Spain, the cheek! Never mind, quality time with the wee man!
Quick knee update things seem to be going to plan, however the numbing agent given to me has started to wear off and MANNNN is it uncomfortable? Had physio this morning which they could see some improvement, however they've given me excercises which I'm to do 4 times a day?
Anyway, loving the weather and if it holds out might even have the first BBQ of the season this weekend....
Feeling OK....
Posted: 06-05-2008 11:21:17
well the operation went well and managed to escape hospital Friday afternoon. The less said about my experience in hospital the better.
The weekend consisted of mainly exercising by knee to make sure a speedy recovery. The movement is coming back, however trying not to work it to hard or over do it!
Working from home today and be back getting stuck in proper tomorrow.
All English Final...
Posted: 30-04-2008 11:09:26
Well done to Man Utd for beating Barcelona and making the Champions League an all English Final. Didn't watch the game watched Waking the Dead, but anyway. Chelsea vs Liverpool tonight, who's going to go through? I reckon Liverpool will have the edge and win 0-1.
Last day at work before getting my knee sorted (fingers crossed). If all goes well, they'll fix my ACL, cartilage and then that'll be me on rehab for next 9 months. Something to look forward to!
See you all after Bank Holiday weekend with an update on how the op and weekend went....
Ronnie O'Sullivan

3 days...
Posted: 28-04-2008 17:26:47
until my knee operation, it's going to be a long rehabilitation and not allowed to do any hard physical activity for 9 months. To be honest if I was still the groove with training I'd be gutted, however I've been a bit of a fat lard ass this last couple of months, so I'll just continue as normal.
Trying to get all my jobs done before having Thursday & Friday off and then it's straight in to a bank holiday weekend. The mother in law is down tomorrow until Saturday, to make sure Zach is well looked after and keep me fed and watered.
Weekend of R&R....
Posted: 25-04-2008 17:24:33
not going to do a fat lot this weekend apart from eat, going to see whether I can pop to Birmingham fish market and get something nice for tea tomorrow night! We're not expecting anyone just a good bit of grub, nice bottle of wine and quality time with Linz and Zach.
Heineken Cup Semi Finals this wekeend too, got my ticket ready for the final down in Cardiff end of May so can't wait to see who we'll be watching - London Irish, Toulouse, Saracens or Munster. To be honest most likely final will be Toulouse vs Munster final!
See you all Monday....
Baby steps...
Posted: 24-04-2008 13:54:41
Zach the legend took his first proper steps yesterday and saved some for when I got home too. He was so pleased with himself it was great to see, he's the best little baby ever....
Count down has started.....
Posted: 23-04-2008 14:42:44
Thursday week going to hospital (again) to get my knee operated on. The deal is, going for arthroscopic knee surgery to assess and investigate my meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament. The anterior will be fixed only and only if the meniscus is fixable and if not then the operation will be stopped and a different approach will happen some other time. I'm loving all these hospital trips, there just grrrrreat!
Cracking weekend...
Posted: 21-04-2008 13:37:37
Zach had a little get together on Saturday to celebrate his 1st Birthday. He's been given loads of noisy toys, what is with friends and family giving him presents which create that amount of noise? He's done nothing but eat crap all weekend, cakes, biscuits, crisps and much more. I do love the fact he's got a big appetite and just loves his food, he really is his father's son.
Once Mad Aunty Jen and Uncle Kenny had left Sunday after brunch at Cafe Relish we went home to read the papers and have some quality time just the three of us. Lovely end to a lovely weekend and a quick get well soon to Linzie's Mom who had to leave early due to a virus, what is it with our house and making people ill?
Party time....
Posted: 18-04-2008 16:20:26
We're having a party for Zach's 1st Birthday Saturday, it's not going not be a massive affair but Mad Aunty Jen & Uncle Kenny are driving from Glasgow for the big event. Usual family are coming, Linz and her Mom got the party food so we're having sausage on sticks, pineapple and cheese, birthday cake and much much more. The evening we're off to Tim's 40th Birthday down at the rugby club, should be a cracking night loads of people.
Good luck to Grippa who's getting married on Saturday, unfortunately we can't make it due to Zach's Birthday party, anyway all this best Grippa and Sarah have a great day x x
Happy Birthday

Zach, you're the best x
Top weekend...
Posted: 14-04-2008 15:45:16
had a wonderful weekend, virtually finished the house only minor bits to sort now! Cracking night Friday for Stevie's 30th, caught up with loads of friends we have haven't seen in ages, it was just fantastic.
Saturday, Zach had his first hair cut and he's started taking his first steps, without support nets or assistance. He's been in quality form and can't believe his 1st Birthday is tomorrow?
I like it.....
Posted: 11-04-2008 16:46:00
the fact I'm feeling better, the house is virtually completed and The Masters 2008 has started. It's the sign that summers on its way, when the major golf tournaments start!
Got a fun packed weekend, the lads are back from Kitzbuhel for Stevie's 30th Birthday bash, meal and then cheeky few pints. Can't afford to have too many as still not feeling 100% and want to make sure I don't have any repercussions. Saturday and Sunday will be finishing off the house and some other little jobs.
Have a good weekend...
what on earth....
Posted: 07-04-2008 13:45:01
happened the last couple of weeks? One minute I was suffering from tonsillitis (not feeling great), next I was omitted to hospital with a quinsy (won't go in to detail). Let's just say it was a horrible experience and ended up in for 4 days on IV drugs. Discharged last Monday, so took the whole week to recoup on the sofa at home. It's so boring being ill, anyway that said I'm feeling much better not 100% but certainly getting back to my old self.
Thanks to all the guys who rallied round and kept everything ticking over nicely...

in hosptial shamming a sore throat, I'll be back in a few weeks.
Classic FM Hall of Fame..
Posted: 25-03-2008 12:56:58
has become something of a tradition listening to Classic FM's 300 top tunes as selected by the listeners over the Easter break? Dad came round this weekend to help lay the wooden floor and other general bits and bobs. We're really starting to see the fruit of all our hard work. Finishing floors today/tomorrow and then hanging the skirting & architraving later in the week. This will then mean the whole of the hall, stairs and landing will be complete. We've got a fire place to hang and be fitted Monday and fingers crossed the carpet will be fitted on Thursday. And then we've finished all our house renovations, touch wood?
Easter break not so relaxing, because of all the work gone down with another throat infection - brilliant medication for another 10 days....
Horrified it's Easter....
Posted: 20-03-2008 13:45:21
can somebody tell me where this year has gone? is it just me or should it be middle of Feb? It's Zach's 1st birthday in less than four weeks time and the house isn't ready for the party!
We've got final push this weekend on the house, it's really coming together by the end of the break we'll have completed the hall, stairs and landing. Laid the wooden floors and hung the new fire place. I'm getting really excited now!
Have a great Easter break everyone and eat loads of Chocolate Eggs...

as much as it pains me to say, they really did deserve the Six Nations title. Inspirational of Warren Gatland getting Martin Williams back playing and getting Sean Edwards to join his coaching team. England have really missed a trick there!
It was quiet a weekend, Zach continued to be ill, Linzie was suffering with a nasty cold virus and me I was all good. To be honest enjoyed making sure the pair of them were OK and even managed to hang the radiator with Dad, source a plasterer and gas fitter in one day, everything is taking shape...
Home alone with the chunder boy!
Posted: 14-03-2008 17:06:26
sounds like a bit of a cop out, after a fancy gentlemen's evening last night at Warwickshre Cricket Club. But unfortunately Zach's had a virus which has fallen on the only day both my parents are ill and Linz has a number of patients booked in. I've been able to remotely access my email (thanks to clever Shaun) and continue to work from home. Although a few of the lads (mentioning no names) think it's a nice day off looking after an ill 10 month old baby! One day they'll understand.....
Back to the decorating this weekend and see whether England can organise a performance, won't hold my breath!
Usher's in the house....
Posted: 12-03-2008 11:40:23
one of my best buddies Rich has just recently got engaged and asked me to be an usher. It's only my second time and can't wait, we've got so much to organise Stag Do, then there's the Stag Do and then not forgetting the Stag Do!
Bring it on......
Old Enemy...
Posted: 10-03-2008 13:06:55
well it was a difficult time on Saturday watching England lose to the Scots! Knew it would happen, they always pull out one great performance in the 6 Nations and yes it's against us! Linzie had Zach clapping every time Scotland scored a point, to be honest I'm really not that bothered. We're not playing the best style of rugby and it's funny seeing the Scots go mad for it!
Anyway, back to the weekend of celebration. It was a great for Linzie and Zach. The meal on Friday was excellent and the fish soup was to die for. Rest of the meal was just top and many a good story was told of Linzie and Jenny from years back. Saturday, as you've gathered was entertaining to say the least. We caught up with Dave & Lucie close friends of Linzie from school. We ate out again, this time opting for pasta & pizza, quality night and sat talking at the table for 4 hours....
Journey back on Sunday was long, never mind well worth it though. Thanks to Linzie's Mom & Dad for a super weekend!

J K Rowling, she's worth a staggering £500 million it was reported this morning. How fantastic, coming from nearly being bankrupt to now owning your own empire!
Anyway, I'm away for 3 days in Glasgow and going to watch the Scotland vs England and eat loads of food. See you all Monday.....
Wifes 30th Birthday this weekend.....
Posted: 05-03-2008 14:03:28
Linz and Zach are flying up today and I'll be driving up Thursday night ready for a weekend with the family celebrating. We're going out for tea Friday night to Gamba a top seafood restaurant in Glasgow and some bubbly! Then hopefully catching the train through to Edinburgh on the Saturday to take in some of the atmosphere of the Six Nations Scotland vs England. We'll beat them and then my beer will taste even sweeter...
We had....
Posted: 03-03-2008 13:32:14
such a lovely Mothers Day yesterday. What a difference a year makes, last year we had the same family meal and there was only one mom. This year we had three; Mom, Linz and Sister it was great fun with Zach causing all kinds of trouble, climbing all over the place and Jacob just kicking his legs like crazy! Roll on next year and they'll both be causing trouble...
I sound like....
Posted: 29-02-2008 17:06:05
a stuck record. But, unfortunately it's all that's I'm doing this weekend is DIY, DIY and more DIY. It's another fun backed weekend of painting, fitting the wooden flooring and hanging skirting. Once this weekend has been and gone it's on to the lounge.
Have a good week people...
3rd cold of 2008
Posted: 27-02-2008 17:47:07
OK, I'm happy that Zach is having a wonderful time at nursery, but he's turned in to a weapon of mass destruction. He's got colds on colds and yes I'm catching everyone. I'm death in one ear and blocked up nose, great....
I said, I'm death in one ear and blocked up nose!
Congratulations..

to Rich and Vix's for their engagement this weekend. We've been waiting ages for him to pop the big the questions and looks like there going to try and get it sorted this year, fantastic. Only worry, the looming stag do and what will that involve?
Tough weekend was had, decorating didn't go to plan. Although pulled it back yesterday with some great help from Mom & Dad - I'm sure we're not millions away from the home straight!
Guess....
Posted: 22-02-2008 17:25:59
what I'm up to this weekend?
Correct, decorating it's the final push to get everything sorted before the carpet and wooden floors get laid next weekend (fingers crossed)! Apart from that going to watch rugby and Linz's sister Jen is flying back up the road to hometown Glasgow. It's been great having her around she's quality and ace with Zach.
See you all Monday...
£572 million pounds profit.....
Posted: 21-02-2008 16:58:04
British Gas made this year - that's a serious amount of money, seeing as they only made a mere £95 million last year. I mean everyone loves making money, but the numbers for company's like Barclays Bank and British Bank are obscene.
Anyway, heard another interesting fact today that Gordon Ramsey doesn't allow swearing in his house, what a hypercritic!
How?
Posted: 18-02-2008 14:10:55
do people on Property Ladder and such like handle the mesh of doing up a house? This weekend I've spent the whole time covered from head to toe in dust. It's amazing how even covering the doors with plastic sheets and tapping them securely the dust still managed to get everywhere in the house? So after a solid weekends work, last night me and Linz ended up cleaning every room ready for Linz's Sister coming down to look after Zach and visit us for the week. She's a good cook, so looking forward to her culinary delights!
I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel for the completion of the house and then I'm putting my feet up!
I'm ready....

for the weekend, I'm a little tired, haven't slept overly well. I can't blame it on the wee man, just waking up at early and not getting back off!
So it's really boring stuff this weekend, on the decorating front. Still got a full weekend with Zach the man and the wife, can't wait it's absolutely golden time!
I couldn't open the front door this morning....

Shopping just got easier....
Posted: 12-02-2008 17:42:08
went food shopping last night at 2100h - it was great so quiet, no queuses, no old people getting in your way - what is it with old people shopping on a weekend anyway, they've got Monday to Friday to shop !!!
What is it....
Posted: 11-02-2008 11:15:15
with England and second half performances? I know we won and it's all about the result. But let's be frank Italy will no doubt be propping up the table come the end of the tournament. We really should be doing a proper job on teams like that, I put it down to lacking a real leader with experience and fight, a Martin Johnson if you will!
Anyway nice weekend was had, Fish & Chip super on Friday night at our friends and Saturday took Zach swimming which is just fantastic fun. Afternoon went down the rugby club at Stourbridge with both Lions and Stourbridge 1st playing - 1st won in the 83rd minute and Lions lost 6 - 15 to Leamington.
Sunday, went across and watched the rugby with our Ian and had an enjoyable afternoon.

Rugby and DIY this weekend and as I'm back to full health going to take Zach swimming tomorrow and then crack on with the preparation for painting next weekend. Apparently it's all in the preparation this decorating lark!
England better sort it out this weekend, if we lose to Italy it'll be a complete embarrassment.
See you all Monday!

I'm the best pancake maker in the world! I say this with no air of arrogance or hesitation. They were nothing short of spectacular, squeeze of lemon and dusting of sugar. So good I had 3!
I is back...

feeling 80% better, the throat has almost stopped hurting and my shakes have ceased! So it's back on with the hectic work schedule, got a good busy week ahead and there's more work going on in the house, more damp proofing this week!
Really don't want to mention the rugby at the weekend, how on earth did we lose so badly in the 2nd half, after being so dominant first half? Well here's me thoughts;
1. Lacked a real leader
2. Balshaw played pants, kick him in to touch!
3. England played so well or Wales played so badly first half we'd thought the game was won.
Anyway, we need to do something quick, as we're the walking wounded as well!
Apologies....
Posted: 01-02-2008 13:16:33
I'm not well, I've got a throat infection. If you need me, email me and I'll responsed accordingly!
Just one final thing Six Nations Rugby this weekend, I'll be watching from my poorly sick bed / sofa.
See you all Monday, fingers crossed!
Splendid weekend...

was had up in Scotland at the Crieff Hydro. We stayed in the a lovely condo just meters away from the golf course and about 1 mile away from the main hotel! The facilities are fantastic, swimming, gym, horse riding, off road quad biking, kid's adventure play area and much more. It was the mother in laws special birthday and so it was a family affair with great food and funny games like Family Fortunes and Innuendo. Zach had a fantastic time, as the place we stayed in was huge, with a large lounge/communal area and kitchen diner. He spet most of the time crawling round on his hands and knees getting up to mischief!
Played the best round of golf in a long time and again didn't lose a ball, that's two games on the trot not losing a ball. We travelled back on Sunday night and had a leisurely day off Monday, getting things ready for the house to be decorated.
Finally, I've come back with a sore throat, which is really doing my head in!
First break of 2008....
Posted: 24-01-2008 18:31:16
away up to Glasgow for my Mother-in laws birthday celebration at Grieff Hydro. I'm taking my golf clubs, swimming trunks and a good book. Very excited as its Burns night tomorrow, so we're having a proper haggis supper in the motherland.
Catch you all when I get back in the office Tuesday...
Painting Pots is cool!
Posted: 22-01-2008 16:02:39
that's what we got up to Sunday over at our friends shop in Worcester. They've recently just bought a shop called Paint Pots and it's just great, you can paint cups, mugs, plates, frogs, fruit bowls and much more. Once the design has been done, its then put in the kiln and cooked to a treat. They can handle all manner of parties, from kids to grown ups taking in their own wine and getting creative!
Go try it out it's ace, I painted a full English breakfast, just got the sausages to finish off next weekend!

what a week running round like a blue ass fly. This year has really started with a bang, who says it's going to be a tough year only if people talk it up. If I thought this week went fast, next weeks going to be mega hectic, I've got Friday off and Monday off away to Scotland for the Mother-in-laws birthday, we're going to Crieff Hydro and I can't wait.
Weekend is on with the decorating, although going swimming with Zach on Saturday afternoon which is going to be great, he can go under water and everything now!
See you all Monday
How to kill a human being.
Posted: 16-01-2008 16:15:23
watched Michael Portillo last night experiment with 'near-death' experiences to establish what is the perfect way to kill/execute a human on death row. It was all shocking stuff and actually made you think about the whole set up in the America. As much as victims suffered at the hands of their attackers, surely in a modern and humane society they can conduct research like this to change the forms of current execution electric chair, hanging, lethal injection and gas chamber and execute guilty persons in the most shortest and humane way?

a top day for Zach's christening and the boy was on top form. He didn't make the slightest fuss during the whole of the service and wetting of the head. We had a good gathering and finished off at my parents with champagne and bacon sandwiches. Linz sister and husband flew back last night and the grandparents are around until tomorrow, they're getting their Zach fix before they go back up the road.
I've got another busy week ahead, so better get on with it....

Zach's christening this weekend, just a small family affair. Linzie Mom, Dad, sister and husband are driving down the road tomorrow afternoon for a Sunday morning service with champagne and bacon sandwiches at my folks. The rest of the weekend will be trying to get the house in some sort of order for your guests, see you all Monday for another frantic week!

I'm not usually influenced by TV, but this whole Hugh Fearnley Whittingstalls campaign against battery chickens has really got me thinking. I'll be totally honest and state for the record I've always brought the bargain chicken breasts. However, times are changing and I've seen the light and it's FREE RANGE all the way.

I can't believe that's how long it's been since Linz finished on maternity leave and started back today? Zach went for his first official day to nursery, dropping him off this morning was hard, but it's all for the best.
The weekend was a mellow affair, working on the house and getting it ready for the new flooring and painting to be carried out the next couple of weekends.
First full week of work and I'm ready for it, bring it on.....
3 day week
Posted: 04-01-2008 17:28:15
just couldn't do it! I thought should be a nice breeze into 2008 but I'm stacked with work already (which is nice)!
Today has been a weird one, this morning I took Zach to nursery for his first full day and although it's a lovely place, clean and safe. You do feel wrong leaving the wee man there! Never mind you've got to cruel to be kind! The rest of the day has just flown by, I do hope the weeks and months don't run away like 2007!
This weekend going to be working on the house, the floor is drying out a treat and we've got to choose the new paint and colour scheme for the dining room, hall and lounge. What fun we'll be having, I'm also off the booze this month :(
Have a good one people.
I became...

an Uncle this Christmas, my sister gave birth to Jacob on Boxing day at 0015. She went in to hospital on Christmas morning at 0600, so she missed the whole festive day! My Mom handled the day very well and continued entertaining the rest of the guests, even with my sister giving birth to her first child. The turkey and food was awesome and Zach enjoyed his first Christmas meal, he was centre of attention for the day and loved every minute of it.
The rest of the Christmas break was a fairly chilled affair, unfortunately Zach had a stinking cold which he kindly passed to me, his mother and both sets of grandparents so we've all been a little under par but still had a great time. Apparently this year nobody was going to be buying much for Zach, however you could hardly get in to the lounge with all the boxes. I bought him a tv remote control to stop him dribbling and chewing the proper ones, it fooled him for about a minute until he realised that it didn't actually change the channel and so threw it one side, never mind hey!
New Year was a lively affair, had a Vegas Casino night round at close friends, we all brought a course and various bottles and had a rather splendid knees up. Yesterday went for a big walk up Clent Hills and cleared the cloudy head!
Happy New Year everyone, here's to a great 2008!
Well that's that..

another year has passed, can't believe 12 months ago I was writing my last blog entry of 2006.
So how's 2007 been? I've become a father if I hadn't mentioned it and have now got a proper diagnoses on me knee, I've ruptured my ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) and torn my meniscus, so I'm having an operation in the New Year to sort the problem out! Thank god I was right and something was broken in my knee.
Good year at work, plenty of good projects for next year and the launch of some fantastic products. Keep checking the website for further details.
Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas & Happy New Year!

Office Christmas Party...
Posted: 17-12-2007 12:52:47
Had a right giggle Friday, we started relaxing in the office around 1230 and then walked down the road for food. Everyone was in great spirits and the laughter rang out. We finished the food and went back for a drink in the office and then the party broke up around 2000h. I popped in to town for a quick drink and then got home about 2300h.
This week is going to be rather hectic as we finish on Friday until the 2nd Jan, looking forward to the break mind going to be lovely...

Linz and Zach back tomorrow, so the house better be finished! I've been assured that everything is going to plan, this morning the concrete got delivered at 0715 and sure it woke the whole street up!

my weekend involved pulling up the quarry tiles and boy did bending over all day hurt! I did a great job and would pat myself on the back if I could only reach! I woke up on Saturday to watch the Hatton vs Mayweather fight, which was not the fantastic spectacle I thought it was going to be! First couple of rounds Hatton came out flying and his work rate was awesome. However, he didn't land the quality punches Mayweather had in his locker, by the 5/6 round Mayweather had sussed the style and was picking off some big hits and just wore Hatton down. All said and done, Mayweather is just the best pound for pound boxer of his generation...

this weekend I will be pulling up the quarry tiles in the dining room. It's to make way for the total and utter chaos Monday will bring when the builders come round to dig out the room ready for damp coursing! It's going to be a disgusting mess, so much so Linz and Zach are flying back up to Glasgow to enjoy a nice relaxing week at the grandparents.
So my weekend is all mapped out, here's to a week on Friday to the works Christmas meal, bring it on.....
Christmas Shopping....

we had family day out yesterday down at Bicester Village. Wasn't a total success on the present front, got a few for the family. Most of the clothes are designer labels which are like £160 for a jumper reduced down to £90 - I mean is that a bargain?
The day was just great and loved spending it with Linz and Zach. Ended up on the evening bathing Zach and making the best fajitas in the world, so much so I ate four bad boys....
Hamilton's good...
Posted: 03-12-2007 12:21:05
watched Lewis Hamilton last night kick ass on the Top Gear track. The track was wet and oily and he still effortlessly completed it at a canter. I mean why wouldn't it be that easy, he only missed winning the Formula 1 Drivers Championship by 1 point in his first season!
Went down to the Christmas Market Saturday in Stourbridge. However, they had two very bizare stalls, Star Wars and Star Trek tribute? They had people dressed up as Princess Leia, Klingons and a 7ft Transformer all very weird. What that has to do with Christmas I will never know?
Very good weekend was had though...
So...

that's November gone, run down to Christmas is upon us. I popped in to a shop last night and heard Shaking Stevens singing his classic "Merry Christmas Everyone" and started feeling rather festive. Maybe due to it being Zach's first Christmas, although he won't know what's going on. We've both agreed to not spending a fortune on him as he'll only play with the wrapping paper....
How can.....

What serious human being can condemn a teacher to 40 lashes or 1 year in prison for naming a teddy bear Mohammed?
What's the World coming to.....
Fingers crossed...

just had my MRI Scan - hoping it'll find something wrong or I'm going to have the leg chopped off! They're weird things MRI Scanners, the noise is deafening and it's like a space age device tube. Let's hope the results are good or bad if you know what I mean?
Thank You....

F&C Investments for a fantastic day of Saturday, watching the Blues take on Portsmouth. I sat in Karen Brady's Directors Box with a number of other movers and shakers and it was fantastic. If it wasn't for me being ill the previous 48 hours I would seriously filled my boots with the fine wine, champagne and great cheese board. The food was top draw with a Lobster Ravioli, Beef Wellington and Summer Pudding for desert. The game didn't go to plan, however a very enjoyable day was had!
I'm feeling 80% better now and getting in a better frame of mind to start looking forward to Christmas, 1 month yesterday how scary!
Apologies...

I'm currently at home not feeling well, so I thought I'd write a quick message to say that I hate being ill!
See you all Monday.

I'm losing interest with it, why are we so intent on making life difficult for ourselves. Apparently we've the best league in the world, but very few World Class Players, with a few exceptions Stevie G, Rooney and John Terry.
Let's hope they do it or our England fans will riot!

a most enjoyable 5 days in Glasgow was had, watched the Tartan Army go crazy in Glasgow against Italy and had quality time with all the family. Our return journey from Glasgow was not so pleasant! A total nightmare in fact, Birmingham Airport runway was closed due to unforeseen snow conditions. So, after the flight being an hour delayed and circling for a further 30 minutes we were forced to land at East Midlands Airport at 1am this morning and then catch a coach back to Birmingham International to pick up my car. A slight inconvenience, we didn't get home until 0245 cold, wet, hungry and very very tired! Zach was an absolute star and didn't moan once, he's just the best baby in the world....
I'll take the high road....
Posted: 14-11-2007 13:45:16
off to Glasgow for a long weekend. Linz & Zach headed up yesterday and so I'm flying up tonight. We haven't got a huge amount planned, but just looking forward to catching up with everybody and have some quality time with the family.
Got a Quiz Night Friday and then Kenny's taking me out Saturday to watch the Scotland vs Italy game in Glasgow that should be a lot of fun?
See you all after the weekend....
Boys weekend...

had a good weekend with Zach and the Wife. Chilled Friday with and then Saturday went down the rugby club to watch Stourbridge Lions play Earlsdon in a gripping 30 - 30 draw. It was a good game, unfortunately one of the Lions forwards broke their ankle in a maul. The break was nasty, I peered over when they cut his boot and sock off, very nice sight! Once the ambulance got him in the back, the game carried on and good as we were 18 - 25 down with 22 minutes left!
Saturday evening had a fair well diner for Mike going back to Austria with Dan and Mandy! Linze cooked a divine fish stew it was awesome and then we had a game of 1990's Trivial Pursuits, it was great!
Sunday, went to the gym for the first time since my knee injury and took an easy session. Did enjoy it....
River Cottage...
Posted: 09-11-2007 10:15:51
loving the new series of River Cottage - Gone Fishing it's right up my street. Great to watch honest fishing where you don't know what you might catch? It's a similar style I've adopted down in Padstow, whack the bate on a float and see what bites. Hugh's giving me an insight in to some nice recipes for the fish, I'm already excited for next weeks episode!
Weekend will be a meallow affair, we've got Dan & Mindy coming for tea Saturday and its Rugby Heineken Cup weekend. There's a grand total of 9 live games on Sky.
Guess what I'll be doing......
spitting....
Posted: 05-11-2007 11:29:50
is just horrible! Driving to work this morning a guy crossing the road was spitting as he walked. It truly is a disgusting habit and offenders should be fined accordingly or made to lick it up!
On a lighter note, nice weekend loving the new series of Long Way Down. Although, Ewan McGregor is starting to get slightly on my tits with his it's all about me attitude!
But Charley is the man....
traveller returns....

my buddy Mike is back from a long season in Greece teaching wake boarding and wind surfing. It'll be great to catch up, tonight it looks like curry is the order of the night. He has a ritual of eating food he can't get when living away. His hit list is Fish & Chips, Balti, Mom's Sunday Roast, Burger King and Pizza Hunt. He has exactly 1 week to fill his boots and then he's off to work the winter season in Kitzbuhel, Austria.
Set for plenty of RR this weekend, me and the wife are going to the Rat Pack-Live From Las Vegas at the Hippodrome Saturday. We've called on the experience of the grandparents to baby sit and hopefully it should all go smoothly?
Somebody forgot....
Posted: 29-10-2007 12:57:59
to tell Zach that he had an extra hour in bed yesterday morning. So he was awake at 0515 waiting for first feed of the day! I couldn't really sleep after that and so the Priestnall family were all up about 0645 having their breakfast.
Enjoyed La Traviata, just thought the venue was too BIG for the production. Did really enjoy it though and thought the show was excellent.
Sunday, went swimming with Zach for the first time it was brilliant. He's been going to Baba Seahorse for the last 6 weeks, so he's really in to it. I'm planning to make it a weekly thing?
Sleepless nights....
Posted: 26-10-2007 11:57:55
I can't really complain about Zach's sleeping to date, however the last couple of nights have been hard work! The wee man is teething and it's just heart breaking to see him. Wednesday he was awake at 0000, 0200, 0400 and 0600 in what can only be described as screaming pain. Anyway, we've tried teething powder and Calpol and it seems to take the edge off, but I'm just sooooo tired.
Anyway, the weekend is upon us again and I'm still limping around with my dodgy knee. Going to the Opera tonight for La Traviata at the NIA, we've got a crowd going from work tonight so should be fun. The rest of the weekend will be pottering round the house with Zach and Linz.
Hopefully going to get some decent sleep this weekend?
hacked off....
Posted: 22-10-2007 14:15:28
laid up all weekend with my knee. Had a green card as Linz and Zach were up in Scotland with the grandparents. It was all planned, 18 holes of golf, all day session for mates 30th and then watching the World Cup Final!
Instead, I sat on my ass all day watching football and anything else going on Sky Sports. I went to friends to watch the rugby and had some pasta. Great night apart from the obvious, but to be honest I didn't really hold out much hope. I think it was an unexpected campaign and just a step to far, although a very impressive World Cup all in all.
Sunday, went out for lunch with a mate and ate lamb. I don't usually eat lamb, but this was delicious. Anyway, off to hospital today to see what's going to happen about the knee....

24 hours to go until England's second biggest game ever! I'm in a bit of predicament of where to watch it? Do I go to the rugby club, stay at home or go to the pub with all the rugby boys? Whatever I do I'll be on crutches, as my knee completely knackered, it went today getting in to a car. I've been stuck in A&E most of the afternoon and the end result was "come back and see us Monday!" I'm a little annoyed to say the least.
Here's to a great game of rugby....

England have made the 2007 Rugby World Cup Final, World Cup Final, World Cup Final. How good does that sound? To be totally written off and touted as the worst defence from a defending team is just fantastic, bring on the Boks, nothing's going to stop us we're on a roll.
Me and wee man are home alone next couple of days. Linz is down in London on a course and so it's up to me. He slept from 1900h last night and only stirred at 0400 for about 20 minutes and then woke up at 0615 - I'll take that every day! He's just the most wonderful baby, I just love him to bits......
Did you know....
Posted: 12-10-2007 09:13:28
during the Quarter Finals of RWC, a beer tent in Paris takings during the France vs New Zealand was £4,000 and during the England vs Australia was a massive £38,000. We really do know how to celebrate us English!
Well it's only one day to go until 'Le Crunch' I'm starting to get very nervous. Confidence is high and I know the boys have another big performance. I'll be watching the game at a friends house, it's his Birthday so he's got a BIG SCREEN, pig roast and plenty of beer, bring it on!
The rest of the weekend will be quality time with the wife and wee man. He's in such great form at the moment and has the most infectious laugh, it's scary he's just gone from a baby in to a little boy in no time at all.....

what a performance, I know it wasn't pretty or fantastic display of total rugby. But what a game, the pack destroyed the Oz front row and it's on to the Semi Finals against France. Who, I reckon we can beat - OK we lost both games in the warm up to the World Cup however on our day it looks like the BIG GAME Players are coming good at the right time.
We had a lovely weekend, induction at the gym and round of golf. We're turning over a new leaf me & Linz, going to get ourselves super fit, watch this space.....
you watch....

England will beat Australia tomorrow by 7 points and then we'll lose in the next round! I can't wait for the festival of rugby this weekend;
Saturday 6th October
QF1: Australia v England (1400 BST)
QF2 New Zealand v France (2000 BST)
Sunday 7th October
QF3: South Africa v Fiji (1400 BST)
QF4: Argentina v Scotland (2000 BST)
England vs New Zealand
South Africa vs Scotland
Finally - Lewis Hamilton will win the Formula 1 World Championship this weekend in China.

I was surfing sky last night and stumbled across the replay of the 2003 Rugby World Cup Final. What a fantastic day that was, come on England for Saturday.
It's knackered...
Posted: 01-10-2007 11:42:22
the arthroscopy didn't show anything and now the consultant says it just needs physio! However, last week the head of physio at Birmingham City Football Club called to discuss some website stuff. After we'd finished he agreed to look at my knee and concluded serious cruciate ligament damage and need surgery! So it's off to a private consultant for another MRI Scan and start the process all over again.
Anyway, weekend was good England and Scotland through to the Quarter Finals and well Ireland and Wales never got going. Next weekend is a complete rugby feast all weekend, fantastic....
End of September...

I can't believe how quickly the months are flying by - this Monday is 1st of October and it'll be Christmas before we know it. We've already starting to get calls about Christmas parties!
This weekend playing golf Saturday and going to start getting busy round the house sorting little jobs that should've been done ages ago, never mind no rest for the wicked....
I too have a cold....
Posted: 24-09-2007 12:19:54
after having a lovely 2 days with Zach - Sunday was a family day round a friend's house who are expecting their first baby in December. Everything was great apart from my nose just didn't stop running. Typical really and so after a terrible night's sleep I'm working from home, with my favourite hot honey and lemon drink for company.
Hopefully I'll be good for tomorrow - see you all then
Baby Sitting....
Posted: 20-09-2007 13:35:21
can you call looking after your own son babysitting? Well that's what I'm doing this weekend, Linz is on a course in Derby all weekend and so I'm taking the day off tomorrow to look after Zach. I'm so looking forward to it, I guess it'll be a challenge however as long as I keep him entertained and fed he'll be a star.
Going to be watching the rugby Saturday, feel a bit of a cheat as I've not even mentioned the RWC 2007 once in my Blog - however haven't really had too much to rave about! Anyway, roll on Western Samoa for some massive hits and general intimidating presence. England's going to turn a huge corner against Samoa now Johnny's back in town and the World Cup will officially start (I hope)!
Catch up on Monday....
I'm back...

relaxing break was had with the family, house fantastic just 10 minutes walk from the beach. Weather super, not a drop of rain all week! We had both sets of grandparents looking after Zach and my sister so that was all covered. I tried surfing and apart from the sea being calm most of the week, when the waves did come in just got smashed all over the place. Spot of fishing was had and caught eight fish, which went on the BBQ. Had some great food and had dinner at Rick Steins Bistro and even better meal at L'Estaire in Rock. Played golf on a Championship Course at Trevose, which was tight to say the least, didn't ruin the views or the walk. All in all just a wonderful holiday with my family, Linz's Sister and the In-laws and would be keen to do it again next year.
I'm refreshed and ready for action....

I'm down in Cornwall with the family, weather's going to be great. I'll be fishing and chilling, i've also promised to do my artwork for the office. Hoping the fresh air will give me some inspiration!
See you all in a week!
Kids....

Saturday afternoon we went out for a bite to eat in Stourbridge. Whilst sat outside a young girl of about 14 started starring at by baked patatoe, with a look of disgust. I ignored this and her constant swearing and general ASBO mentality, until, when Zach started having a little grizzle, she turned to her friends and said "I hate the sound of f****** kids", this I took exception to. I lifted my head and she turned to me saying "What the F*** you looking at"! I was nearly speechless? I replied "Please don't get me started" to which she turned on her moblie phone playing Hardcore music and walked off with her G String hanging out of her tracksuits, smoking her rolled up fag, god what hope has that girl got?
No way is Zach growing up around sub human scum like that!
Anyway, apart from that little incident, I had a very nice weekend and Come on the Villa beating Chelsea 2-0....
Not much...

going on this weekend. Chilling with the family tonight and tomorrow couple of little jobs round the house. First game of the rugby season Saturday and it's all a bit weird not playing. Went training last night, light game of touch, easy run around and ended up popping my knee. So much for the surgeon saying there's nothing wrong! That's it now I've resigned myself to the fact that my rugby career is officially over, hard to come to terms with.....
New trainers...
Posted: 30-08-2007 17:04:34
bought some new runners trainers last week, tested them out the other night. Everything was going smoothly until when I got home realised I'd walked a load of DOG SH** through the house....
Cornwall Rocks...
Posted: 28-08-2007 16:24:47
what a great break me, Linz and Zach had down in Cornwall. Falmouth was lovely, but golf sucked! Started off well until hangover kicked in and then lost balls all over the place. We had great BBQ on the evening and then next day made our way to the North coast of Cornwall (which I prefer). Lunch in Padstow and then an afternoon spent sun bathing and swimming on the beach. Booked in to our B&B which was just fantastic, long bath and then asleep by 1030.
Saturday, went and met up up with our friends Rich, Vics, Ade, Trace & Jamie and had a lovely day on the beach. The sun shone and swimming was fresh to say the least! That evening went out and ate some lovely fish and again ended up in bed for 11 o'clock - Zach was so well behaved didn't make a fuss once.
Sunday, spent most of the morning in Padstow and had ourselves a lovely Cornish pasty and pint of Cornish Ale. Had one final afternoon on the beach and then headed back up the M5 to have the Bank Holiday Monday washing and chilling round the house.
I've only got a week and a bit until I'm off down Cornwall for my week long holiday, this time with all my family and Linz's too. I can't wait.....
Bang...
Posted: 22-08-2007 09:21:45
3 days have raced by so off to Cornwall tonight for a well deserved rest, I can't wait. Playing golf tomorrow morning and then going out for tea on the evening, might even squeeze in a cheeky pint or five? We've got a further 3 days in Padstow and then heading back up the road Sunday to miss the bank holiday traffic (with any luck)!
Catch you all Tuesday and have a good one....
3 days...
Posted: 20-08-2007 10:41:08
and counting, off on our first family holiday. We're taking Zach down to see some friends in Falmouth on Wednesday and Thursday, then Friday & Saturday travelling up to Padstow for couple of days in a B&B. Well Linz wouldn't camp with Zach yet, I can't understand why?
Weekend was fun Mom and Dad's party was just great, the weather didn't dampen the party goers' spirit and everyone had a great time. We've only got Linz Mom & Dad down for another day and then they're back up the road. It's been lovely having them around, all the little jobs I should've done they've actually done. Thanks to both x
It made it....
Posted: 17-08-2007 12:00:52
Channel 4's "50 Greatest Comedy Films" my favourite film Monty Python's Life of Brian was Number 1. Watched the programme last Sunday and not to state the obvious, but it was hilarious! I actually own 6 of the top ten films!
Linz's Mom & Dad are still down, they're both working very hard round the house. Her Mom is cleaning everything, you actually have to wear glasses in the house now. Her Dad has sanded down the bay window at the front of the house and painted it, it looks stunning! They're both having some great quality time with Zach and this weekend we're capitalising on their good nature and going out for tea tonight and then cinema Sunday (on our own)!
Saturday evening my parents Ruby Anniversary and so party time. The theme is red, I still haven't organised a costume, I'll come up with something swanky though!
Baby Yoga...
Posted: 14-08-2007 10:12:10
Zach and Linz have started going to Baby Yoga, it sounds brilliant he's getting himself in to all kinds of positions. The only problem, he's caught his first cold and is all bunged up......
Top weekend....
Posted: 13-08-2007 13:31:59
was had, it was lovely having Lucy & Dave down for the weekend. We just sat around talking about their engagement and wedding next year in Spain. It's all very exciting, Zach got loads of fuss off them both. Borrowed a BBQ off Dan and had our first proper charcoal BBQ for years. There's nothing like it, we've had a gas one, just not the same.
We've got more guests on the way, Grandma & Grandpa are on their way down for a week to see us all, it'll be great.
Conratulations....
Posted: 10-08-2007 13:01:00
Lucy and Dave on their engagement last weekend. They're both coming down to see Zach tomorrow for the night and we're all very excited, BBQ is planned and chilling in the garden, well only until England play France.
Sunday, need to get the garden ship shape and orderly ready for the in-laws coming down next week, it's going to be fun having them around and gives us the opportunity to go out for tea with some friends for the first time in 17 weeks.
Finally, Zach had his first bit of banana this week. He was unsure at first and then got stuck in....
I'd forgotten...
Posted: 08-08-2007 10:58:04
how much fun having a bonfire was? After making great headway in the garden, my neighbour burnt all the old fence panels and wood in his incinerator. The fire was roaring until ten thirty last night.
I'm also officially crap, I tried to paint my picture last night and the result was terrible. I blame the cheap paints which ran, I give up.......
Come on the Villa....
Posted: 03-08-2007 13:27:55
going up the Villa tomorrow to see them take on Inter Milan. It's the first time I've been up since god only knows. Little concerned that we've let more players go than recruited? I don't want to question Martin O'Neill’s ability to manage a squad and his track record speaks for itself, but I say "Buy more players".
We've got another weekend of stuff round the house and looking after his highness, making sure he's got everything; love, cuddles, milk and a clean nappy! I'm loving been a father, it's just wonderful and Linz well you couldn’t find a more perfect Mother, she's just brilliant....
Nice one...
Posted: 30-07-2007 11:43:27
well my black shirt day did the trick. What lovely weekend weather wise. Chilled out Friday with a beer and curry and was in bed for 11pm. Saturday, had quality time with Linz & Zach, lunch in Stourbridge and then went to Lewis' BBQ, it was a really cool afternoon and a good catch up. On the evening another BBQ at Mom & Dad's with the Cousins. They haven't had chance to see Zach, so the wee fella got spoilt rotten and fussed to death.
Sunday, had a little shop in Kidderminster and had a beautiful M&S sandwich. The rest of the afternoon was spent at Dave and Kate's helping them assemble furniture for Libby's bedroom. I really enjoyed the weekend, apart from Otis bringing a mouse in the house last night. I kicked him out and locked the cat flap, nasty Otis!
End of the month.....
Posted: 27-07-2007 14:27:23
is here again, it only seems like yesterday when Ian was going away for 2 weeks holiday and he's back Monday!
Anyway got a fairly chilled weekend. Taking Zach for a cheeky pint tonight, while Linz plays squash. Saturday getting my hair cut and tennis racket re strung and then off to Lewis Birthday BBQ. Having to squeeze in going to Mom and Dad's for a cousin's party. It'll be a bit hectic, however I'm sure I'll be able to fill my boots with good food and drink!
Sunday, is the day of rest. Hoping to squeeze a round of golf in, you never know?

Posted: 23-07-2007 12:50:10
what a fantastic weekend of golf. I really thought Garcia was going close out the tournament Sunday. However, he left his putter in his hotel room. Fair play to Harrington though, I'm just pleased a European holed out and won the tournament. Zach loved watching the golf, so I reckon that's the sport for him, well his mom won't let him play rugby that's for sure.
Had a really nice weekend with Kenny & Jenny, didn't disgrace myself at golf on Saturday only did the front 9 with Kenny going round in 40, Dave 48 and me 49. It was a really nice afternoon and then back home to watch the Open. The golf was so gripping Kenny & Jenny didn't leave us until 1930h for the drive back up the road to Glasgow. That was after some take away pizza from Pizza Express - it was just great!
I want.....

to live in a country where you have proper seasons! This weather is really starting to get me down, I'm trying to keep positive about this country, honestly! The only thing that keeps me going is Zach and Linz. Zach went swimming for the first time this week, a little unsure at first however didn't cry, that's my boy!
Linz's sister and husband are down this weekend, so playing golf tomorrow. Kenny's a player, playing off 8 never mind the walk will do me good. This rest of the weekend is having quality time with them, watching the Open, a few cheeky beers and eating loads.
Cold Update.........it's virtually gone
I hate colds....
Posted: 16-07-2007 16:26:27
had a very nice Friday night round at our friends for dinner and then Saturday woke up with a bloody runny nose! Where do they come from, one minute I was loving life and the next I was full of the cold?
Zach's been an absolute star, he's sleeping from 10pm until as late as 0915 and that's with us waking him up. He's really turning in to a chuffer, it's great. Don't know where he gets that from? We've got Linz Sister and Husband down this weekend so had a good cleanout, trip to the tip and a bag of clothes for the charity shop the size of a house. It always good having a good clean out!
I've decided, I'm going to moan everyday on my blog until my nose stops running!
Short Week...

what with having Monday off and then York Arms away day Tuesday / Wednesday I've not had time to think last couple of days! Never mind Monday will soon be here and we now start every Monday with a 10am job meeting to discuss the weeks work. It was something that came out of our meeting Tuesday and has been implemented (how efficient)!
This weekend I'm chilling with Zach and Linz alllllllll weekend and can't wait! We're going out for a bite to eat tonight at our friends and then resting up.
Ian's away for two weeks from tomorrow, so we need to get on top of things and keep it all ticking over.....

Francis Adkins, what could I say that hasn't been said a million times or more? She cooked the most amazing food leaving me in a euphoric state and warm belly or was that the Armagnac?
Thank you Ian for a fantastic experience and look forward to the next time....
Fishing was a blast....

All back from fishing trip down in Cornwall, we had a great time. Thursday night the tent broke leaving four of us to sleep in a three man tent, snug wasn't the word! Then the rest of the weekend the sun shone, cider flowed and caught fish.
More stories to follow....

Four days fishing in Padstow with the lads. Cider, fresh mackerel and more cider. I love it, got my flip flops and bags are backed.
To be honest I'm missing the wife and Zach, so hopefully this weekend will keep my mind off them both. They're back Monday, which will be here in no time at all!
See you all after the weekend, back in the office Wednesday.

Operation on Friday went really well, they didn't find anything major and just gave the knee a good clean out. It's still a bit sore to be honest, but I've been told to rest up for 2 weeks and then have the stitches out.
As you can imagine I didn't get up to much this weekend and spent most of the time with my leg up entertaining Zach. The boy wonder did it again and slept from 10pm Saturday until 0845 Sunday morning, it was sheer bliss. It's been a great weekend again with the family, they're both off to Glasgow on Tuesday and flying for the first time. After the weekend's events I'm little nervous to say the least. It'll be all be fine, it just shows how tight security is if they have to drive a car it to the Airport!
Off to Cornwall Thursday night fishing with the lads, looking forward to the break!
The time...

as arrived, I'm off to get the knee operated on and see what all the trouble has been about? I've got to be at the Hospital for 0730 and don't even know when my surgery time is? Anyway, going to take a good book and just wait to see when my number comes up. I bet there's nothing wrong!
Rest of the weekend I'm just going to be sitting around and eating. See you all Monday.
I'm getting nervous....
Posted: 27-06-2007 17:31:50
the operation is looming and Ian's telling me stories of people he's heard of never waking up from the anaesthetic!
I'm sure it'll all be good?
I overdosed....

on Zach this weekend and it was great!
Friday went round for a BBQ at Mom and Dad's and celebrated their Birthday's and my Sister great news that they're expecting a baby 27th December - Congratulations to Anthea & Pete!
Saturday took the boy wonder in to Stourbridge and did some shopping and then went and did the weekly food shop. It gave Linz the opportunity to have time on her own and tidy the house! It was great, to be honest he did fall asleep for the most of the trip, but was still quality time. Played golf in the afternoon and had another steady round. On the evening we had a Chinese carry out at our friends and that was Saturday.
Sunday, stupidly went to Ikea and what is it with people there, they must leave their brains at the front door! Just general people stopping and getting in your way, it was HELL!
Happy Birthday Mom & Dad....
Posted: 22-06-2007 16:56:53
tonight me, Linz and Zach are going for a BBQ round at Mom & Dads (weather permitting) and then off to 'Blakedown Bolt' - it's a fund raising 10km event to raise money for the village sports facilities. It's the first one they've held and looks like it's going to be an annual event.
Saturday, playing golf. Hopefully I'll play like I did last week and have a good round, full 18 this weekend!
The rest of the weekend is dedicated to Zach and Linz. Need to get my camping stuff together as what with the knee operation looming next Friday, I won't be so agile!
See you all Monday.
Hilarious....

driving to work this morning, I saw an Australian, Chinese Warrior and Mexican. No, it isn't the beginning to a joke, it was a local school was having a fancy dress day. I wish I did stuff like that when I was at school!
Anyway, middle of the week and having a good one, got some good meetings set up and even manage to get a run this morning. I'm struggling after work, because it's Zach's bath time and I love the quality time with the wee man.
Only two days to go and it's the weekend...

first round of the season Saturday. I hadn't even swung a club this year and played pretty well. Ended up only doing the back 9 and didn't get rained on. It's given me the bug to start playing loads more, although will have to consider the family, new commitments and all that!
Apart from that just chilled all weekend, Sunday was my first Fathers Day and got a wonderful card from Zach and a bottle of Hugo Boss aftershave, it was a lovely day. Popped over to see our friends in Bewdley. Went for a small walk and a couple of cheeky pints and then ended up missing the final of Britian's Got Talent, could you believe it! We only watched all the semi finals and missed the main event!
Finally, got a letter through the post on Friday saying that my knee operation is booked for 29th June @ Royal Orthopaedic, starting to get a little bit nervous!!!
Watching....

Britian's Got Talent all weekend, the wife has just become obsessed. I like it too, it's what reality TV is all about, you can keep Big Brother.
Playing golf tomorrow morning at wait for it.....0754 - what on earth I'm I doing on a Saturday and a weekend. Having said that I'll probably be awake with wee man about 0630, he's my own little alarm clock.
Hopefully the weather will cheer up and I can continue landscaping the garden.
Anyway, have a good weekend all...

relaxing weekend, just pottered round the house with the wee fella. Sunday, was our second anniversary so had a family day out in to Birmingham. Lunch in Rackham's and the purchase of rather stylish pair of shorts. Evening went for Pizza and a glass of wine, a very pleasant weekend was had.

I'm getting old, but I'm looking forward to doing nowt this weekend. Tonight's free; Saturday having friends for dinner and Sunday it's our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. Off out to Pizza Express for a family celebration and where I might add, we got engaged. Taking the wee fella and looking forward to a lovely night out.
See you all Monday.

so much so switched over at 9 o'clock missing twenty minutes of the England match (my choice, not the wife's). England played well, but after all it's only Estonia and they've only got 1,315, 912 people to pick from, half are women and the rest old people and kids! That's like England picking a team from Birmingham.
Wins are always good for the confidence though. Zach watched his first international game and winning means he's got a 100% success record, he's a good omen.

Linz and Zach returned home safe and sound. Thanks to Linz Mom and Dad for bringing them down the road yesterday. We had some quality time together and after much cuddling, went for Sunday Lunch at my parents and had a delicious piece of Beef.
The weekend went like a shot, Friday few cheeky pints with Stevie who's off to New Zealand and Australia for 12 months travelling! And then Saturday had a BBQ and game of Poker, ended up doubling my money.
I'm just super pleased Linz & Zach are back safe and sound.

1st of the month is upon us, where is the year going?
With Linz and Zach away until Sunday, it gives me the whole weekend to watch rugby, do a few jobs and sort the garden out! Although jobs will have to fit round the rugby.
Saturday rugby fixtures as follows;
New Zealand vs France 0830
Australia vs Wales 1130
South Africa vs England 1400
It's a hard life this rugby watching, but I do need to watch it so I can discuss the form down the pub and make comments for the forthcoming Rugby World Cup 2007!

we had a lovely weekend in Glasgow. Zach got to meet most of the family. It's amazing just seeing the difference in 6 weeks, everyone kept saying. As a celebration, Linz's Dad treated me to a glass of his 25 year old The Macallan. It was something else, I just wish I could afford to drink it every weekend. I also visited El President at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow the place is amazing.
All in all great weekend was had, Linz and Zach are staying up until Sunday - roll on full night's sleep...

we're all off to Glasgow in the morning, we thought about driving tonight but M6 traffic is a nightmare. So tomorrow morning once his lordship rises we'll start our journey up the road. Looking forward to the break, it'll be the first time the Great Grandparents will have met him! I've got Tuesday off, so won't be in until Wednesday. Home alone as the wife and Zach will be staying in Glasgow the rest of the week.
Anyway, have a great Bank holiday weekend people and see you all next week.

Drinking loads of water and hot honey and lemon!
Off to Scotland tomorrow, looking forward to the break but not the drive...

Friday early evening played arrows with some of the guys from work. It was a little Birthday treat, few cheeky pints and some competitive arrows. I had to leave early to catch a train for a BBQ at Mom and Dad's. I never realised catching a train could be so much hassle! After arriving at the station, I only had 2 minutes before the train departed and was in a queue 3 deep. With the ticket guy in no apparent rush or urgency, I politely asked whether I could get a ticket on the train, to which he replied "No, you'll get a £20 fine!" Fortunately, I managed to get the train, but think its bizarre how you try and do the environmentally friendly option and you get grief for doing so?
Anyway, Saturday took Aunty Jen to the airport after a very enjoyable week. Rushed back for the FA Cup and watched what only can be desicribed as a boring non event, Wembley looked the business. However, Sunday (My Birthday) watched a great game Wasps vs Leicester in the European Heineken Cup. Rugby just knows how to turn it on and deliver a great game.
Nice weekend was had, off to Glasgow this weekend to show Zach off.....
Happy Birthday to me...

Birthday weekend and decided to have a few cheeky beers and watch the FA Cup and Heineken Cup Sunday.

Friday, I still can't get over the size of Martin Johnson and how enormous Austin Healy's mouth is! David Lloyd (the cricketer, not Tennis guy) was very entertaining and gave a good after dinner speech. The event was so well supported and I caught up with a whole load of faces I hadn't seen in ages and loads of money raised.
Saturday, family walk in to Stourbridge for a Hot Chocolate with Lou & Lewis and then home to watch Leicester vs Gloucester! Gloucester never got going, far too one sided for a final really, think it just empahsis the power Leicester.
Sunday lazy day, visited Mom & Dad and then dropped in to my brothers for a catch up. We picked up Aunty Jen from the airport and went home to chill with the wee fella.
Exciting week of football, it's the business end of the season for the Championship West Brom vs Wolves - looks like West Bromwich are just edging it!

I'm off to Stourbridge Rugby Club for a Luncheon tomorrow with Austin Healey, Andy Nichol, Martin Johnson and Davis Lloyd - WOW!
I've been invited by Orbis Corporate Finance, we're currently working with them on some web stuff. It's going to be great, there's a few other clients going so it'll be a good chance to catch up. Apparently the event has 800 people going and is in aid of NSPCC and Rainbow Childrens Trust!
Haven't got much on this weekend. Saturday, watching the Guinness Premiership final Leicester vs Gloucester and Sunday we've got Aunty Jen coming down from Glasgow to stay for the week. It'll be lovely having her around to look after Linz and Zach.
Have a good weekend and see you all Monday.

Bank Holidays - Friday evening went and did the Friday BIG shop, only sensible food for The Priestnall's this week!
Saturday, at the cricket watching Enville CC vs Stourbridge CC 3rds whilst having a cheeky beer. Stopped in a couple of other pubs on the way home and then returned with a curry.
Sunday, popped over to Cafe Relish in Tettenal. A friend has recently set up this fantastic cafe, it's sooooo laid back and food is great. I highly recommend a trip to read the Sunday papers and a Full English. We picked up the Lucy who flew from Glasgow, it was lovely having her come down and seeing Zach for the first time. The evening went for a BBQ round at Dave's - ate some good burgers and I cooked a lovely salad.
Monday, took it fairly easy and went to a pub for some grub!
All in all plenty of food and relaxation.

Fatherhood is just the best ever, the lack of sleep is a slight problem. Linzie is doing a great job from Monday to Friday keeping him quiet, looks like it's over to me at the weekends.
Weekend we're having quality time with Zach and Linz's close friends and bridesmaids are coming to see the wee man. Hoping to get a round of golf, general R&R and plenty of food. It's just amazing how a little baby can ruin your social calendar, no all day drinking sessions or crazy nights out, nothing. Although I wouldn't change it for the world!
Have a great Bank Holiday people.
Who's the Daddy....

well what a hectic couple of weeks. After being told the birth of our first child would be 2 weeks late. Sunday morning returning from mountain biking, Linzie was having and I quote "some twinges". After timing these it resulted in a quick trip to the hospital, where we were informed she was in full blown labour. Unfortunately, there were a few complications with the wee man and after 1 hour of observations, the midwife and registrar made the decision to perform a C Section. It was all a bit nervy, however after 2 half hours after walking in to hospital, we were blessed with a 7lb 9oz baby boy Zach William Priestnall.
The Midwife was brilliant and standard of care at Russells Hall was fantastic - Thank you so much for all your help.
So now my paternity leave is all finished, it's back to work and becoming the provider for my family. I'm loving every minute of it!
Finally thank you to my amazing wife who carried and produced our perfect little man.

this weekend when I become a Dad?? The chances are slim however you never know?
We're off for a 'Hot' curry tonight to see if that makes any difference with Mom, Dad, Sister & her boyfriend. Looking forward to it, what with being on the wagon again just in case I'm called in to duty!
Saturday, picking up the car seat and evening going for a skittles for Sins B'day. We've got lovely home cooked food to look forward to and enjoy catching up with the gang.
Sunday, well I'm borrowing a full suspension Trek from Andy's bike shop Speed Cycles www.speed-cycles.co.uk and so going to go for a massive bike ride.
All in all waiting for Tuesday to arrive, I'm sooooooo excited!
Congratulations to.....

Lewis & Lou on a wonderful wedding. The weather was great, service beautiful, reception, food and speeches just awesome.
We had a lovely Easter, what with the baby due April 17th (hopefully) it was my last weekend of freedom. So I thought I'd make the most of it!
Thursday night went out with Dan for a couple of pints and met up with my neighbour. Then back to mine for another one and a take-away curry.
Good Friday up biking at 0900 ended up riding 29.1 miles through Kinver Edge, Bewdley, Wolverley and then back along the canal to Stourbridge. My legs were absoultely dead. Still nothing compared with the saddle sore I had (ouch)!
Saturday, had our first wedding of the weekend in Sutton Coldfield (service only). Claire & JP's day was a cracker, great venue, great weather and great Guinness.
Sunday, as I said before Lewis & Lou's wedding was fanstatic. DJ'ing, well lets just say they were a fickle crowd. They had a 60's band before us, who played all the classis and once they finished it was time for Ed & Jim on the wheels of steal. Unfortunately, as none of the younger crowd were drunk they didn't start dancing until 0030 and by that time we had to finish at 0100. Good laugh was had and everyone enjoyed themselves!
The rest of the weekend involved pottering around the house. We had an appointment with the midwife yesterday and she said everything is OK. It's not likely to be on time, but could come any day now!
Roll on any day, for Linz's sake...
What a weekend....

and it's longer than normal, Ian's been at absolute star and given us Tuesday off as well. I've got some decorating to do and then Saturday we're going to Linz's friend's wedding (service only).
Sunday's the one, Lewis's & Lou's wedding, can't wait I've got an important role as an usher and then DJ'ing the last 3 hours after the band. It's going to be an absolute scream, we're stopping over so Linz can call time whenever she's had enough and I carry on partying hard!
Hopefully going to get out on the bike this weekend and generally eat, relax and what a result the weathers great!
It's BIG...

Midwife came round yesterday, everything good apart from when Linz asked about the size of the baby, around 10lbs was the reply!
Let's hope it's a wee bit smaller, for the wife's sake!

I can't believe the difference this morning; it took me half an hour to get in to work, unlike my usual hour long journey. Ban kids from going to school and it'll solve the problem - Vote Priestnall!
Saturday, went to Speed Cycles in Bromsgrove to look at purchasing a new bike for my friend. The shop is owned and run by Andy (good friend of mine), he recently purchased it and has some great bikes and equipment! So good in fact I tested an absolute weapon - Trek 07 8500 Disc, I must have it. Linz isn't convinced what with junior on the way, but you never know?
Easter weekend and got one of my best friends Lewis & Lou's wedding on Sunday - been asked to DJ so going to be a right scream!
time is ticking...

2 weeks to go and it's all calm on the western front!
We had lunch today with our friends Dan & Mand in St Pauls (which was nice). Not much on this weekend we're going to pack the overnight suitcase just in case she drops the bomb. As people keep reminding me, "Any day now then"!
It's another great weekend of Heineken Cup Rugby and my must watch game is Wasps vs Leinster tomorrow afternoon 1730h. The rest of the time is getting stuff sorted for the enivitable arrival!
Finally, a quick good bye to Nick from the BIG USA, he's been over the last week and is on his way to London to work with the Fire Service. Don't worry, I'll text you when it all goes off!
Have a great weekend everyone....

MRI Scan results last week and the doctor concluded that I need an operation to see what's going on? I've been put on the shortlist so will wait and see when it'll get done?
Weekend was nice, Nick from North Carolina is over so we had an Indian take away and a few beers Saturday night and the rest of the weekend just pottered.
England vs Israel well the less said about that the better....

the weekend and it was a huge success. Friday came third in the go-karting out of 9 teams and got awarded with a trophy. Went out for a nice meal at a spit and sawdust place, but the fillet steak was fabulous.
Saturday morning we headed for town and landed in an Irish bar to celebrate St Patrick's Day over some of the black stuff. Then went to the Jury's Inn Hotel and watched all the games back to back. The atmosphere was electric, I'll be honest don't really remember too much of the games, although I knew Wales would beat us!
Nightmare journey back to the hotel. Queued for a taxi for 1 hour 15 minutes in the rain with only a t-shirt on. Got back around midnight, tired, soaked and freezing!
Sunday was a complete right off....

Lewis' Stag Do and to be honest I'm not ready for it! After giving up drinking in January and then Febraury never really started, I've now got to go and get smashed for 2 days. I'm sure I'll cope, what with three matches on Saturday, going to be messy.
Got to remember to take the wooden spoon with me.

beating the French yesterday was just fantastic. Brian Ashton got it right with the balance of youth and experience and the two young apprentices at fly half played outstandingly well.
I managed to watch the Scotland vs Ireland game before walking down the rugby club with the wife to see Stourbridge Lions get spanked by Shrewsbury 22 - 7.
Yesterday we went and picked up the cot bed and travel system, there's loads of stuff and assembling it was difficult to say the least. Anyway, nearly there with our new room, furniture is being delivered today and carpets fitted on Wednesday and then we can move in!
Off to Cardiff this weekend for a stag do, go karting Friday and then finding a quiet bar Saturday to watch the Wales vs England game. It's going to be one mega atmosphere, then a few beers to celebrate!
If I thought last week was short this week's going to be mental.......

I like that I'm busy, but why do the weeks have to go so quickly? It's Friday and it should be Wednesday?
Anyway, another weekend of 6 Nations Rugby and I've got a bad feeling about the England vs France - lets hope we keep within touching distant of them. I'm on my final coat of paint and the skirting to finish off. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself once it's all done?
I'm sure the wife will find me something....

antenatal class last night. If it wasn't bad enough we had to turn up, they only kept 11 pregnant women standing around waiting for the room to be cleaned!
This week we were taught what pain relief is on offer and any potential complications during labour, another happy topic. Next week we visit the rooms and work on breathing techniques and how to receive abuse effectively from your partner....
It's official....

Sutton Coldfield 38 - Stourbridge Lions 10. They were good and we never got going. Ian turned up which was nice and I was having a good game until my trusty old knee gave way. Unfortunately, for me we only had one backs sub and he'd been used after ten minutes. I carried on and scored a try until the last 10 minutes and the knee gave up. I'm calling it a day for this season, back to physio for me.
Ireland played rather well....

I'm learning how to plaster this weekend - I learnt to plaster board the ceiling last night and how to plaster the walls. I've got a very good friend Carl, so if you need any plaster work doing, send me an email and I'll forward you his mobile.
Linz has promised me and Carl a curry tonight for all our hard work, so King Prawn and Chicken Madras here I come. Just call me Mr Predictable.
Ian's coming to watch me play rugby against Sutton tomorrow, they're 2nd in the league so it's all to play for. We're wearing the new shirts Ian so kindly sponsored and having a team photo before the game.
The rest of the weekend will involve the 6 Nations and let me think D.I.Y.

Linz had her car smashed again outside the house sometime Saturday. Sunday, I was like a bear with a sore head. However my neighbour informed me this morning a note has been left by the neighbour two down, saying she did. There are some honest people still in the world!
All in all the weekend was hectic, working on the house. Had a fantastic curry with Mom & Dad and we beat Wolverhampton 29 - 0. Saturday evening went to a fancy dress party back at the rugby club, Hollywood theme. I went as Elwood from The Blues Brothers, good night was had, band, booze and karaoke.
Excited, the wife's coming home today, picking up from the station at 4pm today.

it's boring without the wife. Cooking for one is boring, watching TV on your own is boring and even the cats bored of me.
Dad demolished the shower and everything else in the room. He's making real progress and doing a great job, going too reward his hard work with a nice bottle of whisky....
Home Alone...
Posted: 13-02-2007 10:51:34
the wife has done a runner back to her parents, we haven't fallen out, just a chance to catch up with her family before junior comes.
Dad popped round last night to help me destroy the new bedroom. Starting to take shape, slowly, slowly....
Journey from hell..
Posted: 12-02-2007 16:43:36
it took me 6 hours, yes 6 hours to get back from work on Friday, only travelled 14 miles. I arrived home at 2230h had my tea and went straight to bed. The most frustrating thing was once I'd got to the M5, I thought I was home and dry only to be sat on the A456 for a further 2 hours after a lorry had rolled.
Saturday was a great day at Shaun's wedding and there was much laughter and celebration.
Sunday, recovered all day and watched the Ireland vs France game. Ireland should have closed the game out and kicked the penalties when they had the opportunity. England had a lucky win reading in the papers, anyway result first performance second.
Finally, Wales lost to Scotland fantastic.
Snow is falling...
Posted: 09-02-2007 16:45:33
all around us and I'm freaking out about getting home. The traffic is slowing down and the snows starting to stick. I'm meant to be going up Merry Hill shopping tonight with the wife, oh well some you win.
Very excited about Shaun's wedding and the fact it's another 6 Nations weekend.
If you care to look on the Cherry Chubber, I'm nearly at my target!
See you all after the weekend.
What a weekend...

Heating packed up Saturday morning and then once I'd got that sorted the radiator started leaking. Panic set in trying to stop water leaking all over the room. It was a nightmare, so heating went off all Saturday.
Watched England beat Scotland and the Boy Wilkinson gave a great display of total rugby, The Ashton era has started well! Saturday night went for a curry at the neighbours so warmed up there and the Sunday the old man came round and fixed the problem, what a star cheers Dad.
Rugby, Rugby, Rugby...
Posted: 02-02-2007 15:36:25
Six Nations time and Jonny the boy wonder is back! I do hope he's match fit, the guy is an awesome player even at 80% fit.
Out for tea tonight at friends, Saturday decorating what will be our new room. New bedroom furniture is being delivered in 6 weeks and time is ticking. Just thought once furniture comes, it'll be 4 weeks till the baby arrives, I'm not freaking out honest!
Saturday will be jam packed with rugby, especially when England play Scotland. I wonder which side of the fence Otis will sit?
Oops I did it again....
Posted: 31-01-2007 10:32:00
I've injured myself playing rugby at the weekend, knee gave way while I was running down the wing. We had a terrible game losing to Old Salteians 18 -23 in the last 2 minutes.
Talking of rugby, me and the wife are going to watch England vs Scotland on Saturday.

I've...

gained weight after this weekend. Wonderful time was had in the Cotswolds. The cottage and setting was so typically English. We chilled out Friday night and Saturday got squiffy on cloudy cider at the village pub. I had a fantastic tea, Oysters, Pheasant and Sticky Toffee pudding.
Sunday was a right off!
Down with drink, I'm going back on the wagon.
Weekend is here...
Posted: 26-01-2007 18:18:50
Off to the Cotswolds tonight to spend time with Linz's University friends. We've hired a swanky house in the country and going for Champagne and Pheasant Pie.
Catch you all Monday.
Painting.....
Posted: 25-01-2007 18:00:10
the nursery will be finished tonight and then it's on to the spare room.
Will it ever stop?
Saturday involved....
Posted: 22-01-2007 14:28:16
tennis, table tennis, ten pin bowling, golf, boxing, base ball, shooting and cow racing. First experience of Nintendo Wii round at Als & Andy's, fantastic fun so much so it was one o'clock before we left. It's not like your usual console games, anyone can pick it up and have fun, I highly recommend it!
The rest of the weekend involved decorating and what with it been 22 days without booze. I was totally focused and only have two more coats and then its carpet time....
All in Eddie.....
Posted: 19-01-2007 17:03:26
I learnt to play Poker Thursday, boys' night burger, booze (drank fresh orange) and cards. Funny night, never played before, but soon got in to the swing of things. Until, I got a bit cocky and threw all my chips in on one hand. I lost and from that point I was known to my Poker buddies as "All in Eddie"!
Think I need to brush up on the rules for next time!
Weekend, finishing the nursery and no rugby.
Good to catch up...
Posted: 17-01-2007 17:23:57
spoke with an old uni mate last night, we haven't spoken in 8 years. He's married and expecting his first baby, three days after us and living in London. We're going to catch up when we get a weekend free, baby stuff taking priority for both of us. How things change!
Great times were had with him, where does the time go?
Eggs fit for a king....
Posted: 16-01-2007 10:13:48
found a farm near me that sells duck eggs, they're absolutely beautiful. I had two boiled bad boys yesterday for lunch, cooked to perfection.
As I said on Friday, most of the weekend involved house stuff and Saturday we put a deposit on the travel system and cot bed, so it's full steam ahead on the nursery.
Lost at rugby Lions 10 Sandbach 27 quality outfit!
Sunday got the necessary bits for painting the nursery, it's all starting to come together nicely.
Paint brushes at the ready....
Posted: 12-01-2007 17:27:46
I've got the spare bedroom to decorate this weekend, orders from the Boss!
Saturday, getting measured for an ushers suite, got to buy our 'Baby Travel System' and then playing rugby against Sandbach. They're currently top of the league and scoring for fun, so early to bed tonight and get my beauty sleep in.
Sunday, back to the decorating, cook a Sunday Roast and finally settle down for 'Waking the Dead'.
And then it's Monday!
feeling great...
Posted: 11-01-2007 14:23:58
this dieting thing is actually working! I've lost half a stone and feeling great, trained Monday, went running Tuesday and rugby training last night. Going to have tonight off me thinks and put me feet up!
Only another half a stone to go, bring it.....
Back to winning ways...
Posted: 08-01-2007 10:07:19
we had a great win the weekend beating Aston Old Edwardians 14 - 19. We were 14 - 5 down with 8 minutes to go and then an inspirational kick from yours truly set up the winning try and started the new year in winning ways.
The detox is going well, done my first week off the booze and feeling pretty good. I wasn't overly motivated last week to start going to the gym, but going tonight.
Got another busy week ahead and determined to shed the pounds!
Back to it....
Posted: 05-01-2007 17:15:11
It's been a hectic week! I'm sure first weeks aren't meant to be this crazy?
Anyway, everybody at Cherry HQ is busy bees and Alex is settling in nicely. We've got some exciting projects coming up for Jan & Feb and I've finished off the new look proposal - it's rather smart if I do say so myself!
No drinking this weekend or crap food. Rugby tomorrow and decorating Sunday!
My legs hurt.....
Posted: 04-01-2007 17:32:20
first training session of the new year last night and it was tough! 30 minutes of fitness and 1 hr of skills and drills. Everybody was blowing by the end of it; however we're all ready for the league game against Aston Old Edwardians at the weekend!
Need to get fitter though and start losing some of this holiday weight.
Keep watching my stats it'll start dropping off!
Happy New Year
Posted: 02-01-2007 10:19:32
We'll that's it for another year, I'm sure it goes quicker the older I get.
Had a wonderful Christmas in Glasgow me, wife, the bump and thirteen others were catered for expertly by the mother-in-law. Everyone is very excited about the baby and we got plenty of fuss and loads of presents. We stayed there until Thursday and then had the journey from hell back down the M6.
New Year was a scream had a dinner party round at my friends, we cooked Beef Wellington which was beautiful and then consumed loads of wine and champagne. Unfortunately, the wife didn't touch a drop all night and had to put up with us partying until the early hours of the morning!
New Year new start, after pigging out and drinking far too much its detox time. No alcohol or junk food for me, we're having a slimming competition through January, so we'll keep you updated as the weight drops off!
Three cheers for Christmas....
Posted: 22-12-2006 10:50:19
Christmas is here and Eddie's getting fatter! It's the time of year I love, indulgence has always come so naturally to me and this year I'm going for it big style! New Year going detox, it's such an obvious thing to do but never mind.
I'm off to Glasgow Sunday for Christmas, checked out the weather, looks like it'll be a pleasant journey driving up the road!
Have a wonderful Christmas and an excellent New Year everybody.
Ashed to Ashes....
Posted: 18-12-2006 10:35:14
that's it then the Ashes have been stolen back and to be honest they were the better side! The only worry is there's still 2 tests to go, will it be a white wash?
Great night Friday at the office bash, food was delicious and alcohol flowed! I woke up with one thick head Saturday and then had to go play rugby (which we lost)! On the evening went to hear my parents sing at St James Church, Viva Musica 'Christmas Celebration'.
Sunday was another frantic day collecting the Christmas tree and shopping. Looking forward to Christmas break and hopefully finish off the some of the decorating around the house.
I've done it.....
Posted: 15-12-2006 15:42:23
we've got our Xmas party tonight going out for a curry and stupidly I've eaten a foot long club sandwich from Subway with all the trimmings three hours ago and still full. Never mind I've another three hours to get over this, I'm sure a beer will sort it out!
Saturday nursing by hangover and then playing rugby, that'll be fun?
Going to chill the rest of the weekend if the wife lets me?
Four....

good game of golf on Friday, played some really good holes and then true to form played some awful holes! It was just nice to get out in the fresh air and the weather was good too.
Saturday didn't get up to much, went in to town watched my god daughter dance in sub zero temperatures with just a pair of tights and a leotard, very proud moment. Then went and had a cavery for just £3.25 per head. Roast Beef, Turkey and all the trimmings - you can't get a decent sandwich for that!
Sunday, braved Birmingham for final Christmas shopping and by 1430h we'd both had enough and went home (still haven't got everything, arrrrgggghhhh).
Roll on Friday, it's Office Party time!
That's me...
Posted: 07-12-2006 19:23:42
Got tomorrow off, playing golf with the lads and then out for a cheeky few on the evening - no other plans for the weekend lovely!
I'll catch you all Monday
More baby news.....
Posted: 05-12-2006 09:57:24
felt the baby kick last night!
It was fantastic, can't stop smiling.
It's taken a while....
Posted: 04-12-2006 10:23:33
watched James Bond last night, fantastic film. Everything just worked so well and Daniel Craig is great. I don't know what everyone is going on about his body for ? Nothing speciall!!!!
Anyway, weekend won at rugby beat Ludlow 15 - 10 and had a great meal on Saturday Game Pie, Mash and some lovely vino.
Linz's Mom and Dad left on Sunday morning for the journey back up the road. We'll be doing the same in just 3 weeks time ready for Christmas, where has this year gone?
Short week this week Christmas shopping on Wednesday and playing golf on Friday, then couple of cheeky beers!
Baby news update....
Posted: 01-12-2006 16:26:53
today we went for the twenty week scan and junior is looking great. The picture will be on my blog next week as Linz is showing it off at work. The in-laws are down this weekend and were allowed to see the scan live! It's all getting very exciting!
I had this morning off and after leaving the hospital, left the mother in-law cooking lentil soup and chili con carne for tea.
Rugby tomorrow and nice meal out on the evening, I see an easy weekend ahead?
Scored a try....
Posted: 27-11-2006 10:34:12
We're back to winning ways Burntwood 6 - Lions 11.
It was a shocking pitch, worst drainage with puddles all over the place. Strong wind a classic game of two half's! Anyway got the best of them first half and then held them out second half - then watched All Blacks totally crush Wales 45 - 10. I didn't laugh too much honestly. And less said about England - sorry to say Robinson has got to go!
Sunday got in the garden and swept the leaves only to wake up this morning to see the garden covered again, why do I bother?
Can't believe its end of November, although we've got the 20 week scan 1st December - nearly half way there!
The Flipper
Posted: 24-11-2006 11:25:21
I've been getting up early this week to watch the Ashes, the Oz's are slightly up for it this time round. Shane Warne bowled the penultimate over and threw in 'The Flipper', the crowd went mad but Petersien stood strong. I'm not overly confident about the first test, however still have 4 to go.
Come on England!
My own little oasis....

It's great the new water cooler in the office, it serves me cool water all day long!
The Lord of the Prams
Posted: 20-11-2006 11:23:45
had a great weekend in Glasgow. Stayed with Linz's Sister Friday night and then Saturday went to the Glasgow Pram Center - we've chosen the pram, Bebe Confort Loola Stroller, its a beast! Whilst there, Pippin aka Billy Boyd from Lord of the Rings was buying a pram too.
On the evening went to a fantastic restaurant Urban Grill and ate some fine food to celebrate Linzie's Dad becoming President of Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. We all had a great evening and in true style drank Champagne and fantastic red wine.
All in all great weekend and England won - we've turned a corner, well turning anyway!
I'll take the high road...
Posted: 17-11-2006 17:07:02
Glasgow this weekend - Linzie Dad is taking us all out for tea tomorrow night (somewhere fancy)! We're celebrating him becoming President of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
Also, I've got a date with Pram World Saturday afternoon - get some advice on the latest models. Hoping to watch some rugby - Come on England get your act together!
See you after the weekend....
I'm fed up....
Posted: 13-11-2006 10:12:18
this cold just wont go away - fourth week and its still hanging around! General stuffy head are my symptoms and making me feel drowsy.
The positive thing is to feed a cold, so that's exactly what I've been doing for the last number of weeks - get in my belly!
Roll on tomorrow, going out for lunch for Ian's Birthday - let the games commence!
I'm MADDDDDDD......
Posted: 13-11-2006 10:10:38
some sh**head smashed in to my wife's car last night and just drove off! We managed to witness a Silver Cleo BK03 *** (didn't get the rest) and a neighbor confirmed this too. How these people sleep at night?
Back to the weekend, rugby second week in and made the starting line up. Wednesbury at home, tough game and strong outfit, should be a good test. On the evening going round for tea at our friends Lou & Lewis - suppose I might have to have a glass of wine to be social and then chilling out Sunday.
Finally, going to drive round Stourbridge to see if I can find the culprit and if I catch them.........
So far so good....
Posted: 06-11-2006 10:26:40
Played a full game on Saturday, apart from feeling a little sore and stiff, no grief from the knee! I felt seriously shattered, I was on the bench until after a minute played, our full back went off with a torn quad and so straight in to action I went. We lost, however they were a very good side.
Saturday evening went and had tea with Dan, Mike and Rich. Mike's going back to Kitz for the ski season and so wanted to give him a good send off! Dan cooked a beast of a meal followed by wine and a few games cards.
Sunday, shopped in town and then watched England get stuffed by the All Blacks - at least we scored some points!
Rugby
Posted: 03-11-2006 16:59:31
Got my first rugby game of the season since February. Hopefully the knee will hold out and I'll get through the game?
The rest of the weekend will be mostly eating and chilling and shopping on Sunday.
See you all Monday, ready for another fun packed week at Cherry Towers!
The Land of Chocolate....
Posted: 30-10-2006 12:47:47
had a great weekend with the wife's friends. Went to Cadbury World, all the years of living nearby and never been. It was really good, I actually came out learning some new stuff and discovered what stuffing your face with chocolate makes you feel like!
All in all great weekend was had, however just ate too much!
Halloween tomorrow night - getting the molten lava ready to pour on the kids! Lucky we've just been to Cadbury World, we've got loads of treats!
What a hero...
Posted: 27-10-2006 16:18:06
yesterday I helped a damsel in distress. She'd broken down on a roundabout and not one person helped her out. Until me to the rescue, I pushed her single handedly to the lay by - what a hero!
This weekend the wife's university friends are down with partners, so should be an action packed weekend.
Going to miss watching loads of European rugby, however Sunday will be my day to catch up!
See you all after the weekend.
Decorating....

Roll on Heineken Cup Rugby weekend and Pizza Express tomorrow night.
See you all Monday!
What a weekend...

Villa continue unbeaten run to the season.
Stourbridge Lions beat Old Saltleians 32 - 17 to go second in the league to an undefeated Aston Old Edwardians. We play them week after next - going to be some fireworks.
Went to the gym Saturday morning and the rest of the time stuffed my face silly. Did a 3 mile power walk last night with the wife - had great sleep. Think I'll do it again tonight!
In-laws are coming.....
Posted: 13-10-2006 15:41:41
Linz's Mom, Dad and their friends are coming down the road to spend the weekend with us - It's all very exciting we'll be able to celebrate properly about the pregnancy and we (minus Linz) can have a drink of the fizzy stuff.
We're off to Mom and Dads Saturday night for tea and haven't decided what we're doing in the afternoon - might bring them to town for a spot of lunch. Food's always a good call!
See you all Monday....
What a weekend....
Posted: 09-10-2006 14:14:12
phone's been going crazy from family and friends congratulating us on the exciting news.
The weekend was great, stayed in Friday and Saturday just cooked some lovely food and had a glass of champagne with the pregnant wife.
Sunday, trip in to town for a spot of shopping and then, Pizza Express was the order of the night!

Priestnall Junior - due 17th April 2007

I'm so excited, yesterday was the 12 week scan. It's fantastic, heard the heart beat, saw the baby moving and was just amazed how much it's formed.
Off to bed now - need to get some sleep in!
Roll on April.....
Relaxation....
Posted: 02-10-2006 17:51:28
was the order for the weekend!
Stayed in Friday and watched Jonathan Ross.
Hair cut Saturday and watched Lions vs Wolverhampton which we won 41 -12.
Sunday, shopping in Solihull and bought a light for the lounge. Dinner round at the parents and then watched Cracker. All in all a very nice weekend.
Question Time.....
Posted: 29-09-2006 15:51:52
last night, was funny. I'm not massively in to politics or anything, I just love watching Politicians try to avoid answering the question asked! Jack Straw last night was particularly good and had a better side step than Will Carling in his day. I just don't get it, with the nonsense that these guy spout its no wonder nobody gives a stuff about politics!
That's why I love sport...
Posted: 25-09-2006 10:39:25
The 2006 Ryder Cup has to be one of the best team sporting events I've watched, its right up there with the 2001 Rugby World Cup Final. Massive respect to Darren Clarke, with everything he's been through and to show that sort of togetherness and determination, inspiring.
Anyway, as I said on Friday the weekend consisted mainly of sport, sitting on the sofa and watching the golf. We did venture out to watch the Lions play Sutton Coldfield which we lost. Little bit on inexperience out on the pitch cost us the two points, after we gifted them two tries.
Dinner party Saturday night and the big clean up Sunday.
All in all great weekend.
Golf & food.....
Posted: 22-09-2006 16:31:59
Kenny & Jenny, Linz sister and husband are visiting the Priestnall residence this weekend, all the way down from Glasgow. He's a massive golf fan so unfortunately I'll have to watch the Ryder Cup all weekend. What a complete drag (NOT), furthermore he loves food, so I'll be forced to eat as well!
Apart from that, going to watch the Lions play Sutton Coldfield tomorrow afternoon. Lions sit top of the league and playing well - real test this weekend. Can't wait to get back playing still have to get my poorly knee sorted, seeing the consultant 25th October.
See you after the weekend (if I'm not stuck in my chair)?
Nice time...
Posted: 18-09-2006 13:59:59
in Portugal, weather was great and apartment even better. The complex we stayed on was brilliant, swimming pools (in & outdoor), tennis courts, fully equipped gym, use of 18 hole golf course and putting greens. My only negative point was the Rumshack was closed for the season - boooo!
Alvor was only a 10 minute walk away with its beautiful setting. The port had a number of restaurants with roaring bbq's and smells of freshly cooked sardines and tiger prawns. As you can imagine I was mostly eating fish this week and even had grilled sardines on the first day.
The holiday consisted of eating, lying in the sun, thinking of what to have for dinner and a couple of rounds of golf. Just what the doctor ordered, all in all had a wonderful holiday with the wife, Lewis and Lou. It's really does feel like I've a good break.
Now where was I......
Out of here....
Posted: 08-09-2006 17:42:28
1 week off in Sunny Portugal - sun, food and more food.
Checked the weather, packed my bags and ready for my 6am flight Sunday morning - what a nightmare!
Anyway, catch you all when I get back.
Well, well....
Posted: 04-09-2006 10:24:45
Lions played a friendly match against Droitwich and lost! To be honest we didn't have the strongest side out and they wanted this win so bad, after we spanked them twice in the league last season. Watched England game down the pub, right result, although not getting carried away it was only Andorra.
Sunday, went shopping and that was very uneventful! Dinner round at Mom and Dads and then watched Rob Roy for some classic blood thirsty action. All in all a pleasant weekend was had.
Roll on Friday and then I'm off for a week to Portugal.
2 day week...
Posted: 01-09-2006 16:12:24
can't be bad!
Well not much on this weekend, first friendly game of the rugby season and start of the Guinness Premiership, I know what I'll be doing.
1 week left than I'm off to Portugal for a week, bring it on!
See you all Monday.
what a wonderful.....

weekend camping we had in St Merryn.
Day 1 - Weather was good (dry), did some coastal walks on Saturday. Went fishing on the evening and caught five mackerel, gutted them and within 1 hour they were cooking on the BBQ. They tasted awesome steamed with lemon and dry white wine. Can't beat it!
Day 2 - drove to Fowey and had cream teas and then went down the beach. Tom came down from Bristol and we went out for dinner, to be honest the place is overrated. In bed for 11pm and didn't stir until the morning.
Day 3 - went down to Padstein (Padstow) and had a Cornish pasty and couple of pints. Tried a spot of Bass fishing, however didn't really give ourselves enough time, had a couple of bites, but nothing of much interest.
Left on the Tuesday morning after a walk along the beach and popped in to Padstein for some lunch, arrived home early evening, very relaxed and engergised.
All in all a great break and can't believe the weather we had!
